The Forest of Pinia is the last big pine forest of Corsican coastline. It is bordered by the banks of the pond Urbino and 3.5 km of beach. The forest of Pinia was the last refuge for Corsican deers which totally disappeared in 1968 before being reintroduced a few years later in the Fiumorbu by the Regional Natural Park of Corsica In 1993 the forest suffered a fire that destroyed much of it, fortunately the important reforestation efforts that followed helped keep its original character space. To access the beach: From Ghisonaccia, turn left to the resort Perla di Mare. Then follow down the track for about 800 meters, to access the first car park take the first right. If you carry on, you'll meet four other parking lots or parking areas. Unsupervised swimming. The advantage of this beautiful sandy beach is that it is lined with pine trees (forest Pinia) and it offers the possibility to organise picnics in the shade of those trees.
