The bastion of the standard, built in the 13th century by the Genoese is a little identity Bonifacio. This is the imposing fortress overlooking the harbor entrance. It was once used to protect access to the door of Genoa which was originally the only entrance to the city. Destroyed in the 16th century, the most representative building Bonifacio was rebuilt in the wake while being adapted to new techniques seats, thanks to much stronger fortifications with walls seven to ten meters thick. By visiting the bastion of the standard, you have access to the memorial garden and the Roman ruins panorama overlooking the cliffs. It is the culmination of the upper town.
