St Césaire chapel (Cortina)

A Curtina, Saint-Césaire San Cesario bishop of Arles who lived in the sixth century, gave his name to the oldest chapels still standing in the Valley (1030). Abbé Pierre Lhostis, which focused on various religious buildings in the town in his "Pieces of local history, 1100-1960" presents this chapel as a pendant of St. Michael Sisco, set on a place steep to defend against invaders like: Saracen and Barbary, who devastated the Cape into the first half of the eighteenth century.
