Considered one of the largest square in France (300 m long and 90 m wide), it takes its name from an ancient chapel built in the 11th century, which was destroyed during the expansion work of the esplanade in the 19th century . To see: - The war memorial surmounted by a bronze group immortalizing the gesture of a Corsican mother who gives his third son to the Motherland. - The statue of Napoleon as a Roman Emperor by sculptor Bartolini Florentin and built in 1853 in honor of Napoleon III. - The Bandstand built in the late 19th century. - Every Sunday morning: the flea market.
