St Roch chapel (Pietronacce)

The chapel Saint-Roch-Santi-Roccu does not go unnoticed: located in Petronacce it is also the high point of Selmacce, after a beautiful flight of stairs in the vault. Saint Roch throne at the crossroads. Patron of shepherds and flocks, the saint is very popular in the Mediterranean. There are, for example, to celebrate him, buns called "bread of Saint-Roch" which are blessed on August 16th at the parish feast. But before being dedicated to St. Roch, the chapel was another patron saint: St. Sebastian known to protect people from bad fevers, especially malaria. Source: Destination Cap Corse
