Station Lucciana: the archaeological site of Mariana

The site of Mariana is located, near the church of the Canonica, rare vestige of the Pisan time keeping all its original purity. The City of Lucciana is twinned with Monaco. Sainte Devote is the saint patron of both towns (you can find in the church a statue offered by Prince Rainier III, ask the keys to the tourist office of Lucciana if you wish to visit the church ). The Roman colony of Mariana, founded in the early 1st century BC by General Marius gives it its name. It enjoys a privileged position in the heart of the plain of Marana, near the river Golo and the pond of Biguglia. All the elements gathered here to make Mariana a hub for trade between Corsica and the rest of the Mediterranean world.
