Corbara is one of the oldest villages in the region of Balagne, founded in 816. Hamlets spread majestically over the hills of Mount Guido, the Borgu and Pietralta at the foot of Mount Sant'Angelo, in a " Moorish " architecture, consisting of beautiful houses, streets and alleys, archways of squares, fountains and wash houses, chapels, feudal ruins of a fort that became chapels, a set of two Baroque religious buildings (the Collegiate Church of the Annunciation and the Brotherhood of Saint Anthony Abbot) . A mile from the village rises the imposing monastery, Saint Dominic Convent, founded in 1418, overlooking the valley of Latiu and the Baroque church of Our Lady of Latiu, bordering the village of Pigna . During your walk from the old fort (1375) which became in 1700, the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows , you will discover the beautiful olive groves of the plain Balanea where the Phoenicians founded a city, where the chapel Romanesque Saints Cornelius and Cyprian, was built in 1098 on the ruins of a temple dedicated to the god Baal. The college and its Museum is a remarkable collection which can be visited on request to the town hall ( in winter). It is opened for tours during the summer . (source: Office of Tourism Balagne )

  • Corbara

beau village avec des petites ruelles comme on les aiment. Par contre peu de lieux pour se restaurer ou se rafraîchir.
