The village of Tomino

With 224 permanent inhabitants (2010) and six hamlets, Tomino, due to an area of 580 hectares (the smallest municipality of the Cap Corse) has, after Brando, the largest municipal density of the micro-region : 39 inhabitants km ². A not so obvious paradox, because Tomino benefits like Rogliano from the growth of Macinaggio riviera: shops, restaurants... As in the rest of the Cap Corse, the population peak is during the second half of the nineteenth century (1874) with 712 inhabitants. Demographic low flow occurs in 1962 with a population reduced to 104 people. Since then, the town recorded a steady increase in its population. Source Destination Cap Corse.
