The village of Sisco

Twenty-five square kilometers of land ( 2,496 hectares ) for a population of 937 inhabitants (2010), Sisco is one of the most important village in the Cap Corse. It has 19 hamlets and 14 localities, the difficult years finished in the 70s. In 1972, for example, it numbered only 421 people when it had 736 en1922 , in 1862 940 and 781 in 1772 . The town is now experiencing unprecedented demographic peak and the process continues as Sisco officially has reached the 1,000 permanent inhabitants in less than 2 years. Sisco , like all the villages of the Cap Corse, is marked by barbarian raids and Genovese lors fighting for a share of its territory. Note that from 1483 to 1491 the valley of Sisco is a fief, the Melchior Gentile one. Between 1625 and 1762 Genoa provides direct community management. From 1762 Genoa becomes an ally of Pascal Paoli.
